FAIRBURY – The annual Jefferson County Agribusiness Banquet has been set for Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m. at Fairbury Jr.-Sr. High School. The evening will feature entertainment by Dave Thorell, member of the Nebraska Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Thorell retired from dedicated service to rural listeners in 2016 after 42 years of service on KRVN in Lexington. Thorell speaks of agriculture and rural Nebraska with authenticity and humor. The meal will be catered by Ricky’s of Hanover, Kan.
Table sponsorships are welcomed and are $75 each. Businesses interested in a table sponsorship should contact Deb Umland, treasurer for the FFA Alumni, at (402) 754-4114.
The banquet will also include the presentation of the FFA Alumni scholarship, the Jefferson County Ag Award, and the NRD Conservation Award. There will be a silent auction, including work from FFA members.
Tickets will go on sale in March for $5 each at First National Bank, American National Bank, Union Bank, Jefferson County Extension office and the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce office.
The annual Jefferson County Agribusiness Banquet is organized by the Fairbury FFA Alumni as a thank you to area ag producers, and a promotion of agriculture in our community.
