Czech Celebration Gets Underway, Tonight

BEATRICE –  The 56th Annual Wilber Czech Festival….in the nation’s Czech Capital, gets underway tonight.

An accordion jamboree helps kick off the celebration, at Wilber’s Outdoor Theatre, south of the downtown.  That’s from 5 until 6:30 p.m.  The Wilber Alumni Dancers will perform at the bandstand, downtown.  There’ll be polka bands at the T.J. Sokol Hall and in the beer garden outside the Hotel Wilber.

A presentation called, “Tales of the Czechs” will be held at the Outdoor Theatre, at 9:30 p.m.

A full schedule of activities is offered Saturday and Sunday in Wilber, including parades both days, beginning at two p.m.
