Crete’s Morgan Maly commits to Creighton women’s basketball

CRETE, NE – After taking an unofficial visit to Creighton’s campus on Dec. 14, and getting an offer from the Bluejays that same day, Crete junior Morgan Maly announced her commitment to the Jays on Thursday afternoon via Twitter.

Maly is averaging 21.1 points and 8.1​ rebounds this season for the Cardinals (5-2), most recently dropping 15 points and eight rebounds in a 35-25 loss at No. 2 Waverly on Dec. 20.

Maly chose Creighton over scholarship offers from UNO, Texas-Arlington, Denver and South Dakota State.

Colorado State, Gonzaga and South Dakota had also been in regular contact with her but did not offer a scholarship.

Maly and the Cardinals face Omaha Skutt (6-2) in the Doane Holiday Tournament on Friday. Tip-off from the Haddix Center is set for 1 p.m.
