COLUMBUS – A car that was stolen from a local worksite in Columbus was later found by county authorities near Monroe.
Columbus Police Captain Todd Thalken says police received a report of the stolen vehicle at approximately 7:37 p.m. Friday evening. The car was a 1987 Chevrolet El Camino that belonged to a construction worker who was working just off 33rd Avenue in north Columbus.
The owner of the vehicle had lost his keys and later found that his car was stolen. The vehicle was eventually found unattended by the Platte County Sheriff’s Office near Monroe.
