CPD: Windows Broken out of 6 Cars in Columbus

COLUMBUS – Police are investigating several criminal mischief incidents after a string of cars had their windows shot out.

Columbus found or had reports on Monday of at least seven vehicle with windows shot out. Columbus Police Captain Todd Thalken says two incidents occurred on Fairlane with a 1999 Ford F-150’s back window being shot out, leaving $250 in damage. Police found a second vehicle with windows shot out on Fairlane, but the owner decided not to make a report.

A 2004 Ford Free Star on 20th Street had it’s driver side window shot out, leaving $150 in damage. A 2012 Kia Soul on 22nd Street and a 1995 GMC Suburban both had their back windows shot out and damage for both vehicles was estimated at $200. Additionally Officers found a vehicle on 21st Street had a window shot out, but the owner never called in to make a report.
