Bus Driver Reports Screw-Driver Wielding Trucker

GREENWOOD – A  bus driver told Cass County deputies he was on his way to Lincoln Thursday, when he was followed off Interstate 80 near Greenwood and was threatened by a truck driver.

Cass County deputies reported that Charles Hickox III of Alabama  said he was on his way to the location of  country music star Eric Church’s Lincoln concert. He reported that he pulled into Cubby’s with the truck behind and dialed 9-1-1 after the truck driver displayed a large knife.

He said while he was taking vehicle information for officers, the trucker came at him with a large screw driver.

Sources associated with the country music star, say the bus driver is not in any way associated with the performer or his crew. The bus with Jack  Daniels markings may have been heading to Lincoln for the concert, but had no official connection with the singer.

The Nebraska State Patrol stopped the driver, 50-year-old Richard Zuhlke of North Platte. He was arrested for suspicion of assault.
