BEATRICE – A local company will install a ball field trail at Hannibal Park, in east Beatrice. The city council voted to select Lottman Carpenter Construction at a cost of just over $82,000. The project, being funded through a Land and Water Conservation grant, will provide a short trail that eventually will connect to a concrete trail to be constructed from the Big Blue Water Park, to Hannibal Park.
City Administrator Tobias Tempelmeyer says the bid from Lottman was not the lowest but has met the grant guidelines.

Tempelmeyer says the city is incurring additional engineering expense on the Ridgeview Drive project.
The city received four bids for the Hannibal Park ball field trail. Other parts of the project include a new playground and picnic shelter, along with new parking area.
