Computer Virus Brings Down City of Beatrice Systems

BEATRICE – Persons needing police, ambulance or fire service in the Beatrice and Crete areas are urged to temporarily use the 9-1-1-number.

That’s because phone and computer service has been down since about 3:30 Monday morning in Beatrice City Government, including the Southeast Communications Center.

Chief of Police Bruce Lang says the culprit is a bad computer virus, infecting systems.   City  I-T personnel are working on solving the problem.

The advisory to temporarily use 9-1-1 if you need police, fire or ambulance service is for all of Beatrice, Gage County and the City of Crete.
