MARYSVILLE, KS – As a patient at Community Memorial Healthcare, Henry Hoppenstedt was especially fond of the nursing staff who cared for him during his stays at the hospital. Hoppenstedt was never married and considered the nurses his “family.”
Upon his death in late 2004, Hoppenstedt’s Will provided and allowed for CMH to award a nursing scholarship on an annual basis. The scholarship reflects on Hoppenstedt’s high regard for nurses and addresses today’s nursing shortage.
Community Memorial Healthcare will award scholarship funds of $1,000 per semester with a maximum of $2,000 per year to future nurses who are graduates of Marshall County High School.
Applications are now available for the Hoppenstedt Nursing Scholarship. Applicants must have proof of admittance to an accredited nursing program, and meet other eligibility requirements.
Application forms may be requested online by submitting an email address to email@example.com. All applications must be postmarked by June 9, 2017 and submitted to Community Memorial Healthcare, ATTN: Scholarship Committee, 708 N. 18th Street, Marysville, KS 66508.
