Columbus Man Pleads Not Guilty in Felony Meth Case, Scheduled for Trial in April

COLUMBUS – A Columbus man will be heading to trial in a Platte County meth case, after pleading not guilty to the felony on Thursday.

23-year-old Kevin Beltran is facing a class 2A felony charge for distribution of an exceptionally hazardous drug, which Platte County District Judge Robert R. Steinke identified to be meth.  Beltran pled not guilty to the charge on Thursday, during his arraignment in District Court, and is scheduled to head to trial on April 3rd.

Beltran’s bond is currently set at 10 percent of $250,000 and if found guilty of the charge, Beltran could be sentenced to between 1 to 50 years in prison. Beltran will also appear for a status hearing in District Court on March 22nd.
