COLUMBUS, Neb. – A Columbus man punched a police officer after being questioned about a fight he was believed to be involved in, according to reports.
30-year-old Jeremie Malijan is charged with 3rd degree assault of an officer, along with three related misdemeanors.
Records say on the night of January 19th, Columbus Police talked to Malijan in a Columbus sports bar after they heard a fight broke out in the parking lot.
The officer says Malijan refused to answer questions about the fight and when CPD tried to detain Malijan he began to fight back, hitting the officer in the mouth, causing bleeding and swelling.
Malijan kept fighting before being forced into a wall and arrested.
His first appearance in court will be on February 7th.
