Columbus Man Accused of Fleeing Cops, Possessing Meth

COLUMBUS, Neb. – Police located drugs in a Columbus man’s vehicle after a car chase in Platte County in December of last year.

21-year-old Aron Enrique-Martinez is charged with two felonies: flight to avoid arrest and meth possession.

Records say a Platte County deputy attempted to stop him while he was driving his car northbound on 33rd Ave. near 53rd St. He tried to flee from authorities and eventually reached speeds of 80 MPH, while running at least one stop sign, according to court documents.

Enrique-Martinez, who was also known as Chino, eventually stopped at a residence he was staying in at a trailer park northwest of town and went inside, records say. He eventually escaped out of the back while the deputy waited for backup.

Meth was located inside of the vehicle, documents say.

Enrique-Martinez was arrested in February by authorities and his bond was set $50,000.
