BEATRICE – The Gage County communities of Wymore and Filley remained without electrical power Saturday, as Norris Public Power District crews spent the weekend repairing damage from severe weather, Friday night.
Assistant Wymore Fire Chief Mark Meints says the department established an emergency operations center at the fire department, which was expected to be operating through the weekend, to provide assistance to residents.

A lot of tree branches were knocked down in Wymore, and Meints said there were some homes that had damage to siding or roofs. He says he saw a lot of funnel clouds Friday night, though he didn’t observe any touch the ground.

Although the Wymore Good Samaritan Center just recently closed, Meints says the community has access to use it for sheltering purposes, if needed following the severe weather. He said emergency needs can be met, at the fire hall.
Meints said there were no reported injuries, from the storms.
