BEATRICE – The Nebraska Legislature must figure out a way to account for $173 million less in revenue during this upcoming legislative session….and that’s just for the current budget.
With a new revenue estimate recently showing a continued decline, putting together a new two-year budget will be a tough chore this session.
Governor Pete Ricketts, in Beatrice Saturday, said the budget hole is even larger for the next two years.
:10 “by the budget”
Ricketts is supporting changes only on the spending side.
:09 “tough choices”
Ricketts says it doesn’t mean that the state cannot look at property tax and income tax relief.
Tomorrow is election day, and Ricketts says everyone should vote, if they haven’t already.
