FAIRBURY NCN 21 STUDIO – A one vehicle injury accident sent this man via life flight to a Lincoln hospital one Friday afternoon in late September. Today, he sits in our News Channel Nebraska studios thankful he only suffered from minor injuries.
Jason Daniels, an employee of Beatrice Concrete says it was a normal work day for him on September 23rd, he was driving his cement truck near Jansen.
Daniels says, “I went around the motor grader, they were out grading the road and he left a pile of gravel in the center of the road.”
And then this happened… girlfriend of Daniels, Kendra, shared these photos with NCN’s Elise Waller.
“They said I was trapped for about an hour and a half. That’s just hearsay, I don’t know for a fact – a long time! I had a few injuries. I had a collapsed lung, injury to my head, to my left elbow, and bumps and bruises.”
Daniels was treated and released by the following Tuesday. He says he went in and shook the hands of those emergency responders who aided him on that frightening day.
NCN’s Elise Waller asks, “And did you get right back out there?”
Daniels says, “I’ll find out tomorrow. I go back to see the doctors tomorrow and hopefully they’ll release me so I can get back driving again.”
When asked if he wanted to say anything to drivers out there, Daniels said, “Buckle up! I wore a seat belt and it does save a life.”
