ALEXANDRIA – Catfish were plenty in the Alexandria State lakes during a recent study by Nebraska Game and Parks.
Three biologists from Nebraska Game and Parks Commission were at Alexandria State lakes Monday and Tuesday indexing the fish population. The data gives fisheries managers a good idea of the health of our fish populations and an indication of how management activities, such as stocking and harvest regulations, are performing. NGP Fisheries Biologist Tony Barada says sampling is one of the most important jobs for fisheries biologists.
If you like to fish for catfish, Barada says the numbers look good at Alexandria State lakes.
Alexandria State lakes has two lakes totaling 46 acres of water located just east of Alexandria, Nebraska.
