Camp Jefferson Cuts The Ribbon On Their New Pool

FAIRBURY – A celebration and ribbon cutting was held Thursday night at Camp Jefferson for their new pool and bathhouse which board member Ron Schwab says has been a long time coming.

A couple of years ago the board was faced with a decision of putting up a new dining hall or replacing the pool, the board opted for a new dining hall and hoped for a miracle that the pool would last.   That miracle happened, and thanks to a $400,000 donation by Vern and Barb Pfaff a new pool was being constructed and the camp wouldn’t owe a thing.

Vern Pfaff hopes that this will be something that will be enjoyed by the communities families for years to come.

Founded in 1921, the Camp is a 40 acre retreat that features 11 cabins, a new dining hall, shower house, fishing, boating, trails, picnic shelters, an outdoor amphitheatre, and that brand new pool.   Camp Jefferson is located about 5 miles southeast of Fairbury.
