Bus Company Serving Beatrice Public Schools, Looking for New Location

BEATRICE – Beatrice Public School Administrators will meet with the company providing bus service in the district, to look at options for a new location.

Mid States School Bus is losing its bus maintenance building, because it is being purchased by a manufacturing company.  Dean Carroll of Mid States says the he company needs a new bus barn, including a shop and wash bays.

One of the facility needs the district is examining is replacement of the old maintenance building at Athletic Park.  That project, could be a combined maintenance facility and bus barn, on school land near the high school.

Carroll says Mid States has two bids on new locations but is willing to work with the school district on a solution.

Superintendent Pat Nauroth was given an informal nod from the Beatrice School Board to look at possible options for a bus facility and location.

Mid States serves about fifteen school districts.  Carroll says in about half of those cases, a bus facility is located on school property.
