FAIRBURY – After 5 months, the Burkley Family Center in downtown Fairbury has finally re-opened its doors.
A ribbon-cutting was held at the Center on Saturday to celebrate its re-opening and to show the public its remodeled interior. Tiffany Pfaff, who organized the re-opening says she and her family are happy that it’s finally finished.
Prior to the remodeling many of the cupboards were falling apart and the paint was a very outdated bright red color.
Although the remodeling could have waited a few years, Pfaff says that it wasn’t fair to the community to wait that long.
Pfaff added that the remodeling will benefit the community, giving them more options to hold events.
The total cost of the project was around $70,000, and will allow the community to hold events of their own.
