The NSAA swimming and diving meet starts Thursday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, and the Beatrice-Norris-Freeman-Fairbury team has eight boys and eight girls competing in 10 different events.
The diving competition is the only event taking place Thursday, with the girls’ diving starting at 9:30 and the boys to follow at 2.
The lone BNFF competitor in girls’ diving is sophomore Camaryn Wisnieski. Wisnieski earned her automatic state qualifying score of 302.8 at the Columbus meet on Jan. 15.
The BNFF boys’ divers are Hayden Stevens, Callum Olmer, and Matthew Griffeth.
Looking at the schedule for the rest of the meet, the girls’ session begins on Friday at 9 a.m. The BNFF girls’ relay team of Mikasa and Mikwena Lierman, Crystal Craft and Maya Moran will compete in the 200-yard medley relay in the third heat. Laci and Lauren Havlat and Josi Mans are the alternates.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Lierman sisters, Moran and Laci Havlat will compete in the fourth heat, with Josi Mans, Crystal Craft and Lauren Havlat available as alternates.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Mikasa Lierman, Laci and Lauren Havlat and Josi Mans will compete in the fourth heat. Craft, Moran and Mikwena Lierman will be their alternates.
Looking at individual events for the girls, Moran will compete in the 100-freestyle in the first heat and also in the third heat of the 100-backstroke.
Laci Havlat will compete in the 50-freestyle in the first heat. Crystal Craft will compete in the 100-breaststroke. Mikasa and Mikwena Lierman will both compete in the 50-freestyle as well. They’ll both be in the fourth heat.
Turning to the BNFF boys competing in the state swim meet, in the first heat of the 200-yard medley relay, Ian Scheele, Jacob Mason, Colton Starck and Michael Walsh will all compete. Cameron Knepp, RJ Suey, David Gray and Carson Monhollon will be the alternates.
Starck will also be competing in the first heat of the 50-freestyle and 100-butterfly on Friday.
In the 200-freestyle relay, Walsh, Knepp, Suey and Starck will compete in the second heat, with Gray, Monhollon, Mason and Scheele as their backups.
Finally in the 400-freestyle relay, Mason, Knepp, Suey and Walsh will compete in the first heat. Starck, Monhollon, Gray and Scheele are the alternates.
The boys’ session on Friday begins at 2 p.m. The championships on Saturday start at 11 a.m.
