BEATRICE – A Blue Springs man wanted on a drug warrant from Gage County fled from police and a U.S. Marshal’s deputy in Lincoln, and is now being treated for gunshot wounds.
25-year-old Thomas Sailors Jr. was shot by a Deputy U.S. Marshal just before he led Lincoln Police and the deputy on a pursuit, Friday night.
Beatrice Police Officer Shane Mololey says the Gage County warrant charged Sailors with conspiracy to distribute illegal drugs. He says officers observed him traveling in a stolen GMC Yukon, in Lincoln, and followed him to a gas station.

A Lincoln Police Department news release says the vehicle driven by Sailors struck at least four vehicles, including the vehicle the U.S. Marshal Deputy was driving and police department vehicles. He then backed into an exterior wall at 1634 Prospect, damaging the structure.
The U.S. Marshal’s deputy fired shots into the SUV, striking Sailors. Sailors then fled in the SUV and law officers pursued the vehicle, but ended the pursuit at 8:20 p.m. About nine minutes later, Sailors arrived at a local hospital. He was taken into custody and brought into the emergency room. He was listed in critical, but stable condition, being treated for gunshot wounds. No law officers were injured in the incident.
Authorities have made several arrests in recent weeks in the Gage County drug conspiracy investigation. Mololey says Sailors has fled law officers on numerous occasions in the past.
