Black Hills Energy to build new operations center in Fairbury

FAIRBURY – Black Hills Energy team members serving Fairbury-area natural gas customers will soon be relocating materials and supplies from their current location at 518 E Street to a new building south of 24th on L Street.

The building will store equipment and serve as a warehouse for area team members who provide service to more than 1,500 natural gas customers in Fairbury along with Blue Springs, Endicott, Odell and Wymore.

Black Hills Supervisor of natural gas operations Matt Morrissey said in a press release that the new building “allows Black Hills to store all of their equipment and materials in one location more efficiently, which will help serve Fairbury customers more efficiently.”

Construction on the new 4,000 square foot operations center will begin this summer. Black Hills upgraded the natural gas service lines and gas mains in Fairbury back in 2015.
