Big Holiday Weekend In Fairbury

Friday Night kicks off a big holiday weekend in Fairbury.  The Fairbury Chamber of Commerce is once again holding their Miracle on the Square and Festival of Trees celebration.   From 5 to 7 you will be able to walk through a wonderland full of decorated trees and holiday cheer at the Jefferson County Courthouse.  Kids get a chance to meet Santa and tell him their Christmas wishes, and the popular free horse-drawn wagon rides as well.   Plus you might even see Frosty the Snowman and the Grinch walking around.

The Jefferson County Courthouse will also be lit up with lights this year.  Miss Nebraska Pre Teen Adaline Linscott will flip the switch.

Jefferson Community Health and Life and the Burkley Fitness Center will be having their annual Reindeer Fun Walk Friday night at 5:30 on the square.  Participants will recieve reindeer antlers and a blinking reindeer nose for the walk.  You’re also invited to stop by the Jefferson County Art Guild from 5 to 7 to make a candy cane Christmas tree ornament.

There will also be plenty of shopping to do with the Fairbury United Methodist Church holding a Holiday Boutique and bakery on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.   St. Michaels Christmas Bazaar and Craft fair will feature a Saturday full of vendors, door prizes, and raffles as well.
