BEATRICE – The Beatrice Public Schools “Best Possible Summer” classes for young students continues to be popular. The hands-on classes going on this month have drawn a registration of about 330 kids, which is on par with last year’s number.
Beatrice Public Schools Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Jackie Nielsen says students signed up for a full twelve days of activities can participate, at no charge.

Activities are based at the new addition to Paddock Lane Elementary, but students also fan out to locations such as the YMCA, Beatrice Public Library and Homestead National Monument of America.
Nielsen says an one benefit of the Best Possible Summer series is a decline in what’s described as summer learning loss.
