Beatrice Police Called to Lincoln Street Address, Arrest One Man

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police called to a disturbance in the 400 block of Lincoln Street last night, arrested a 34-year-old man for alleged domestic assault, child abuse and disturbing the peace.

Jeremiah Tart appeared in Gage County Court this morning, where his appearance bond was set at $10,000.   A provision of the bond is that Tart not have any contact with alleged victims in the incident.

When police arrived on scene last night, they observed Tart sitting on a sidewalk, appearing extremely agitated.  Officers said he appeared to be high on an illegal substance.  Police said it had been their third such call for his behavior in five days.

Authorities were told Tart had slammed a scooter against the window of a minivan as a woman was attempting to leave the scene. Tart allegedly threw the scooter at the van, hitting the vehicle and then landing in a driveway.

Police later contacted a female at the Beatrice Community Hospital Emergency Room who was being treated for injuries from an assault.  An officer’s report indicated the woman had visible head injuries, and said she had been struck in the head by Tart as she was holding a two-year-old child.

According to a court affidavit, Tart has three prior domestic assault arrests…by Beatrice Police in August of 2002 and December of 2004….and by Wymore Police in September of 2014.

Further hearing in the case is set for September 28th.
