Beatrice Police Arrest Suspect in Stolen Car Investigation

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police have arrested a suspect after investigating an incident involving a stolen car.

24-year-old Robert E. Wilson was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under revocation.

Just after midnight, Monday, police received a report of a 2013 blue Nissan Altima having been stolen from a Beatrice resident.  The victim told police she suspected who had taken the vehicle, but had not given permission to use the car.

A patrolling officer spotted the car southbound in the 36-hundred block of North 6th, and stopped the driver at around 1:25 a.m.   The driver, Wilson, allegedly showed signs of impairment and was arrested.

Court records indicate he has a prior DUI conviction from March, 2011 and a prior conviction for driving on a revoked license, from this past January.
