Beatrice Police Arrest Suspect in Motor Vehicle Theft Investigation

BEATRICE – Bond was set Monday at $10,000 for a man arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft and theft of a Samsung tablet.

Marshall Burger was arrested after police investigated reports of a stolen BMW and stolen Chevrolet pickup.  The car and Samsung tablet had been taken from Harms Trucking, in north Beatrice.

Beatrice Police used a security video and the tablet to help lead them to the suspect.  Police also spoke with a witness who allegedly had been given the tablet by the suspect, to sell it.

The BMW, with damage to the vehicle, was found in the 300 block of South 22nd.  Police suspected it was involved in an accident at 13th and Sargent.  Police learned the pickup, with a missing tailgate, was about a block away from the car.

After locating Burger and questioning him, police arrested him for motor vehicle theft and theft of the tablet.  He was also booked for driving on a license that had been suspended, in January of 2017.

Burger faces further hearing May 22nd, in Gage County Court.
