Beatrice Police Arrest Assault Suspect, After Two Calls to Same Home

BEATRICE – Bond is set at $5,000 for a Beatrice man arrested for domestic assault and child abuse, after Beatrice Police were called twice to a home on Sara Road.

Police responding to the home late Wednesday night said the suspect, 34-year-old Brian Spale, had left the residence before officers arrived.  A female reported being struck in the face and body repeatedly by an intoxicated male.  Glass had been broken in a cabinet.

Police received a 9-1-1 call Thursday morning at 8:31 about a disturbance, and returned to the home, arresting Spale.  Authorities say he allegedly had punched mirrors, broke items in the home and punched a hole in a bedroom door.  While looking for his keys, Spale is suspected of picking up a mattress and flipping it over, causing a two-year-old girl to end up on the floor.

Spale faces a June 20th hearing, in Gage County Court.

In a separate investigation, Beatrice Police arrested Marcus Cross on suspicion of 3rd-degree domestic assault.  The arrest was made after the woman who is the alleged victim came to police headquarters with injuries.  Police say she reported being struck by Cross.  The victim also told police that she had been with Cross in his vehicle when he used it to run into her vehicle.

Appearance bond for Cross is set at $10,000, with a June 6th Gage County Court hearing scheduled.
