BEATRICE – The Kensington Beatrice senior living center will be teaming up with Beatrice Middle School students to stuff their bus full of donated food, for the local food pantry.
Instructors Ben Essam and Mike Policky say students and staff at the school plan to help stuff the Kensington bus with food and paper products.
Family Advisor at the Kensington, Sue Ann Henning says the Kensington Bus will be sitting outside the doors of the center from 1-to-3 p.m., November 15th, where the public and middle school students can bring donated items.
On Thursday, the 17th, Kensington families are being asked to help stuff the bus when they come to the Kensington Family Thanksgiving meal. Then, on Friday, November 18th, Kensington residents will deliver the stuff-the-bus goods to the Community Food Pantry and Emergency Services, at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Instructors Essam and Policky’s students who are part of an adopt-a-grandparent project will pick up donated food items from study halls Thursday, Friday, Monday and during Tuesday mentoring, to take the items to the Kensington in the afternoon, on the 15th.
