Beatrice Man Sentenced for Incident With 16-Year-Old

BEATRICE – A Beatrice man who had sex with a 16-year-old female has been sentenced to a one-year probation term with a 60-day jail sentence, up front.

27-year-old Cody Peck was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, following a plea agreement.  Peck was arrested for the incident involving a female co-worker at a local fast food restaurant, which occurred in the summer of 2014.   The incident happened at Peck’s home, where the girl had gone to pick up a cell phone charger.

In Gage County District Court, Judge Vicky Johnson said Peck, married with three children, believes he is the victim in the case.

Judge Johnson said she was giving little weight to a private investigation of the incident, because it did not prove whose account of the incident, was accurate.

The judge ordered an immediate 60-day county jail term with 33 days credit, for time spent in custody.  The judge denied a defense request to delay the start of that jail term.   The probation sentence also includes two 30-day jail terms, but that time can be waived if Peck meets the terms of his probation sentence.
