Beatrice Man Ordered to District Court, for November Stabbing Incident

BEATRICE – A man charged in a stabbing of another man has been bound over to Gage County District Court, for arraignment.

A preliminary hearing was held Friday for 21-year-old Brandon Hatfield, charged with 2nd-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

Hatfield was arrested and charged for an incident last November 10th, in which another man was stabbed in the eye at a home in the 14-hundred block of Carlyle Street, in Beatrice.  The victim survived the attack.  If convicted of both charges, Hatfield could receive up to 70 years in prison.

A Gage County District Court arraignment is now scheduled for February 2nd.

Hatfield is also suspected in a second case of burglary and unauthorized use of a financial transaction device.
