Beatrice Man Injured When Tractor Overturns

BEATRICE –  A Beatrice man was taken to the local hospital Thursday after his leg was pinned by an overturned tractor.

Beatrice Fire and Rescue personnel were sent to the area of 25th and Court in the east part of the city, at around 3:38 p.m.  Fire Chief Brian Daake says the man was doing some ground work around his building on a 1950’s Ford tractor when the machine began to tip over and the man attempted to jump off.

Daake says the tractor fell and the engine area of the machine pinned the man’s left leg.   Firefighters used airbags to lift the tractor off the man.

Daake says the injured man was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital, where he has been treated and released for a possible fractured ankle.  The man, whose identity was not released, is in his late 50’s or early 60’s.
