BEATRICE- Beatrice City and Rural Fire and Rescue personnel were sent to the scene of an accident northwest of Beatrice, Thursday night.

Emergency personnel were sent to the area between Southwest 117th and Southwest 131st Road on West Hickory Road…west of the Koch Nitrogen Plant.

Gage County Sheriff’s officers say a 1997 Nissan Maxima, driven by 32-year-old Eric Kleine of Beatrice was traveling east when a deer ran onto roadway.  Kleine tried to avoid the animal, and lost control of the car.

The vehicle went into the south ditch, struck an embankment and went airborne.  The car rolled over and came to rest on its wheels, in a field.  Kleine, who was using a seatbelt, had injuries not considered life-threatening.  He was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital.

Fire and rescue personnel were sent to the scene at 10:23 p.m. and were on the scene for just over one hour.
