FAIRBURY – The Fairbury Police Department made an early Monday morning arrest of a Beatrice man for alleged drug charges. Shortly after 3 AM, an officer with the Fairbury Police department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired plates and a broken tail light.
Officers observed the driver of the vehicle, Gerald Ackerman, age 60 of Beatrice acting extremely nervous, jittery, and amped up. Ackerman later admitted to police that he had methamphetamine in the vehicle and turned over a pill bottle and pipe. After searching the vehicle, police found an additional substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Gerald Ackerman was placed under arrest for alleged Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
