Beatrice Lady Orange Golfer Baete, to Play for Nebraska

BEATRICE – A top girl’s golfer in Nebraska from Beatrice will play for her home state in the Big Ten Conference.

Kirsten Baete was honored before the Beatrice Board of Education last night for her accomplishments this fall season.

Beatrice High School Activities Director Neal Randel, talking about Baete’s individual crown in class-B girls golf this year, along with her college plans.

Also recognized before the school board Monday night was Addison Barnard, a ninth grade member on the Lady Orange Softball team. The pitcher and utility player was named to the 2nd Team Class-B All-State squad.  Barnard launched 14 home runs for the Lady Orange this past season.

Also recognized before the District 15 Board were All-State Choir members, Natalie Doering, Eli Hoefer, Whitley Kleveland, Noah Snurr, John Spilker and Nathan Spilker.

The students of the National Honor Society at BHS were recognized by the Gage County Habitat for Humanity Chapter for the students’ participation in the Brush of Kindness project……where students help paint the homes of the elderly and low income persons.
