BEATRICE – During their games against Waverly on Thursday night, Beatrice High School students sat and collected donations on behalf of News Channel Nebraska’s beloved Bryan Cook.

On the evening of Sunday, February 12th, Bryan Cook suffered from a serious medical condition. Cook is still being treated at a Lincoln Hospital. The Beatrice community, as well as other local communities, didn’t hesitate when it came time to rally together and support Cook and his family during this difficult time.

Assistant Principal Robert Sexton tells News Channel Nebraska late on Thursday night, they collected roughly $10,000 to help Bryan and his family pay for his medical expenses.

Cook has been the voice of Beatrice sports, and surrounding schools, for nearly 20 years. This past year he also took up being a frequent television personality and anchor for our sports and local “Around Our Area” segments for News Channel Nebraska 21.

On behalf of the News Channel Nebraska/KWBE/KUTT Team, we thank you all for your support. Bryan is and will remain part of our team, always.
