In the Eastern Midland Conference tournament semifinals Tuesday, the Norris Titans (6-3) topped the Gretna Dragons, 8-3 at Hickman Park.
Tyler Monroe led Norris at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a run scored, a double, a walk and three RBIs.
Bryson Schultz was the winning pitcher, lasting 5.1 innings and allowing just one hit. He walked four batters and struck out three. Norris now faces No. 1 ranked Waverly (8-3) in the conference title Wednesday.
The game is at Waverly and starts at 3:30 p.m. Waverly topped Bennington, 6-5 Tuesday.
Beatrice (5-4) is back above .500 with a 4-0 home win over Falls City Tuesday. Sophomore Qwin Zabokrtsky tossed his second complete game of the season Tuesday. The right-hander allowed just two hits over seven hittings while striking out five and issuing zero free passes.
Beatrice continues its homestand Friday when they host No. 10 Omaha Skutt Catholic. First pitch is at 6:30. The game will be carried live on 1450 AM and 94.7 FM KWBE Beatrice with pregame coverage starting at 6:10.
Finally, Crete (5-4) earned a 10-7 win over Central City/Fullerton Tuesday. Stats were not immediately available for this game.
The Cardinals have won three of their last four games, and will next face Seward at home on Monday at 4:30.
