Beatrice Councilman Victimized by Thief, While Attending Meeting
Bike similar to one stolen from city councilman

BEATRICE –  A Beatrice city councilman was the victim of a theft, while he was attending a council meeting last night at the school administration building.

The regular portion of the council’s agenda had ended and the council went into executive session.

Councilman Joe Billesbach says after the closed session when he went out to his vehicle, his bicycle attached to a bike carrier, was missing.   Billesbach says with the equipment he’s added, the bike is worth about $2,500.  It’s described as a neon yellow, Salsa Warbird model.

Anyone with information that may help Beatrice Police in their investigation of the theft, should call 402-223-4080.

Billesbach says his vehicle and the bike were parked in a row nearest to the administration building, toward the east side of the lot.
