Auburn Man Accused Of Sexual Assault Of Child Victims

AUBURN – A 50-year-old Auburn man has been charged with 16 counts including sexual assault of two children and visual depictions of a minor.

The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brian Betts on Nov. 19 and conducted searches on his Google e-mail account. Sexual exploitation charges span a time period of March 4 to June 24.

Betts was released from parole on the day the offenses are alleged to have begun, March 4. He had served time for possession of meth.

He is also charged with possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine in the current case.

A $500,000 bond has been set.

Jennifer Castro, 45, who lives with Betts, is charged with allowing a child to be sexually abused in March and endangering a child’s physical or mental health on Dec. 11.
