BEATRICE – Two men were injured Friday after being ejected from their four-wheel all-terrain-vehicle five miles west of Beatrice.
Gage County Sheriff’s Officers, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and Rural Firefighters were sent to the accident in a field, north of Southwest 117th and Belvidere Road, at around six-ten p.m.
Authorities say the driver of the ATV, 19-year-old Andrew Hamel and a passenger, 23-year-old Isaac Roelfs, both of Diller, were taken to Beatrice Community Hospital for treatment.
Safety restraints were not in use at the time of the accident. Investigators say neither alcohol or drugs are believed to be factors in the mishap.
