FAIRBURY – Another round of showers and thunderstorms rolled through southeast Nebraska Monday afternoon
They were nowhere near as strong as the storms on Sunday, which dropped large hail in many locations, and even an EF-2 tornado in Lincoln. That tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service on Monday.
Thayer and Jefferson Counties in Nebraska, along with Marshall and Washington Counties in Kansas, were placed under Severe Thunderstorm Warnings early Monday afternoon for the threat of quarter-sized hail. No damage was reported in the area.
The city of Fairbury has unofficially received 1.5 inches of rain since Sunday. Morrowville, Kansas reported 2.3 inches. Hubbell and Reynolds each report about 1.5 inches, while Jansen and Tecumseh received around an inch.
