FAIRBURY – For the second time in less than 24 hours, Fairbury Police have taken someone into custody on alleged drug charges.
On Thursday morning, The Fairbury Police Department was dispatched to a residence on the 1100 block of 3rd Street for a verbal disturbance. While en route, the police were informed that the male subject was in the bathroom smoking methamphetamine.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the reporting party that handed them an altered light bulb with a burnt white residue that tested positive for methamphetamine. Police then arrested David Sutton, age 51 of Fairbury and discovered he also had on him a small plastic baggie containing a substance that tested positive for marijuana.
Sutton was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and charged with alleged possession of a Methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, drug paraphernalia, and disturbing the peace.
