Annual Golf Tournament Boosts Scholarships For Community College Students

BEATRICE – Southeast Community College is getting a boost in providing scholarships for students, through a donation from an annual golf tournament in Nebraska

As part of the proceeds from this summer’s Wells Fargo Nebraska Open Golf Tournament in Columbus, checks totaling $16,000 were presented to SCC Campus Directors of Beatrice, Lincoln and Milford, on Tuesday.

NPPD Board member Mary Harding says the tournament has now raised over $1.5 million for community college scholarships in its 27-year history.  This year, it raised $80,000.  SCC has now received a total of $314,000 in scholarship support from the tournament.

The checks were presented to campus directors at the Southeast Community College Board meeting, Tuesday, in Beatrice.
