Annual Fairbury Civic Foundation Grants Awarded To Fairbury and Deshler Schools

FAIRBURY – The Fairbury Civic Foundation has announced the awarding of the 2018 Sanmann funds.  Grants are awarded annually to area schools and are disbursed from earnings of the Foundation’s Sanmann Fund which was established to provide supplemental funding for arts and technology in Jefferson and Thayer county schools.  Schools are encouraged to apply for the grant money to be used for “extras” that would not otherwise be budgeted for.

This year the foundation donated $1,500.00 to Deshler Public Schools to be used toward a 3-D Printer in the school library.  They also donated a total of $505 to Fairbury Public Schools to be used toward a furniture kit for the new Art Kiln at the Fairbury Junior/Senior High School

To date, more than $88,500 has been awarded to area schools from this fund.  The money has been used toward projects similar to those listed above.  Other projects funded in the past include character enrichment programs as well as cameras and computer software.
