BEATRICE – Gage County’s median level of agriculture land valuations ended up at 72% of full market value this year…within the acceptable range allowed under state law. Residential valuation has a median of 93% and commercial property, at 100%.
Gage County Assessor Patti Milligan said overall agriculture valuation remained unchanged this year. Not so, on the residential side.

Milligan says the number of agriculture land sales has dropped off, significantly. Property valuation notices recently went out to property owners, in those cases where there was a change…either an increase or decrease.
Milligan says property owners with questions about their valuation can also come into her office to discuss how it was set.

Persons wanting to protest their valuation can file the protest through June 30th. The county board of equalization then hears those protests, in July.
