Abiding By The Rules, During Beatrice Clean City Week

BEATRICE –  Persons putting ordinary garbage at curbside during Beatrice Clean City Week next month, can expect it to remain there.

New regulations for this year’s annual curbside cleanup went out in recent utility bills.   Only large items will be picked up by city trucks and personnel, and the schedule has been shortened.  This year’s campaign, getting underway April 10th, will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only.

Over the past couple of years, some residents didn’t follow the rules, and placed boxes of garbage at curbside….items that would be picked up during normal garbage service.   This year, bags and boxes will be left behind during the large item campaign, which is limited to residential properties only.

Mattresses will not be picked up.  The city is providing a roll-off dumpster in the south parking lot at the Scott Street ball fields during the week, for disposal of mattresses.

It’s curbside only, no alley pick-up.  You must register your address for pick-up, prior to 6 a.m. the day your area is canvassed.  You can do that on the city’s website, by clicking on Clean City Week on the left side of the page.

The April 10th through the 12th schedule is:

Monday: East of 6th, South of Dorsey, North of Court and West of 19th

Tuesday: Hoyles Trailer Park, and West of 6th Street

Wednesday: South of Court, East of 6th, and East of 19th Street
