BEATRICE – A 59-year-old Beatrice woman will serve a 36-month term of probation, after being convicted of possession of methamphetamine.
Two cases involving meth possession were filed against Tammy Wakem, but the Gage County prosecutor had one of the cases dismissed, to focus on allowing the defendant to beat a drug addiction. The state recommended a probation term of 60 months.
Wakem’s attorney says she has health problems, and needs the structure of a probation sentence.
Gage County District Judge Rick Schreiner had a sobering message to Wakem about drug use.
