2017 ‘Chasin Dreams’ Event in Rulo to Benefit 12-Year-Old Cancer Patient Will Walker

RULO – A charity bike ride that begins and ends in Rulo will help a 12 year old cancer patient pay medical bills.

The ninth annual ‘Chasin Dreams’ benefit ride will begin in Rulo on June 17th. The route will take riders in a circle from Rulo, to Oregon, Missouri, over to Big Lake, Missouri, before finishing back in Rulo, specifically Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill, who helps put the event on.

The 2017 ride is for Will Walker, a 12-year-old from Savannah, Missouri who has a Synovial Sarcoma, a soft-tissue cancer in his left elbow joint. Walker has had several surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy treatments, and part of his arm had to be amputated as well.

His last round of chemo was in February of this year.

An auction will take place at Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill after the event, with items such as a Henry rifle, Kansas City Chiefs tickets, Schlitterbahn waterpark tickets, spa products and gift certificates, being auctioned off.

Registration begins at Wild Bill’s, located on HWY 159 & Main St, at 11 a.m. with the ride beginning noon. Costs to enter range from $5-20. A free will donation meal will take place after the ride.
