1 Dead, 3 Injured in Highway 30 Collision

SCHUYLER – One person is dead, two are in critical condition, and another is injured after a  Highway 30 Collision.

Colfax County Attorney Denise Kracl says at 7:53 p.m. on Friday, Colfax County personnel responded to an accident on Highway 30 between County Roads 18 and 17, east of Schuyler.

The sheriff’s office says a 2015 Ford Fiesta driven by Mark Connealy, 65, of Rogers, was eastbound on Highway 30, when it crossed the center line and collided with a westbound vehicle. The westbound vehicle was a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, driven by Steven Marshall, 61, of Octavia, says Kracl.

The accident occurred where the old highway merges with the newly constructed highway 30, says Kracl.

Connealy was pronounced dead at the scene, while all three occupants of the minivan were transported to the hospital with injuries, says Kracl. Two of the passengers were believed to be in critical condition, and were transported to another facility for a higher level of care, says Kracl.

An autopsy has been order for Connealy, says Kracl.
