No. 21 Arizona State caps sweep of Huskers with two-hitter

TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State scored early and often Sunday to finish a three-game sweep of Nebraska with a 6-0 victory.

The No. 21 Sun Devils (19-5) scored five runs in the first two innings. ASU scored 27 of its 28 runs in this series in the first two innings.

NU pitcher Sydney McLeod allowed six runs (five earned) on 11 hits, but didn’t allow an earned run after the second inning.

Nebraska (4-16) had two hits, and both were by designated player Cassie McClure, who also came in to pitch the final inning.

The Huskers play their first home series of the season Saturday and Sunday against New Mexico State at Bowlin Stadium.
